United States Coast Guard. Enlisted 1977 as an E-2 stationed on an Ice Breaker in Alaska, Main engineering repair and preventative maintenance on boilers, diesel electric main propulsion and generators. Transitioned to aviation, attending schools for the repair of HC-130 turbine engines, APU'S and hydraulic systems. Responsible for a duty section of 40 crew members as a Duty Section Leader, assigning tasks for deployment of Search and Rescue Aircraft. Honorably discharged as an Aviation Machinist Mate 1st Class.
