Serves as an assistant to Human Resources Specialists working in a Civilian Personnel Advisory Center (CPAC). Performs a wide variety of technical support duties in one or more of the following human resources management program. Supports specialists in the following functional areas:
1. Recruitment and Placement: Provides recruitment and placement support services to HR Specialists. Conducts recruitment/examining activities for common lower-grade positions. Prepares modifications as needed to standard announcements. Prepares certificates as required. Responds to customer inquiries on such matters as procedures for filing applications, status of recruitment announcements, kinds of vacancies in the organization serviced and hiring procedures and announcements. Assists in the registering of employees in the Priority Placement Program (PPP) as well as local placement registration. Assists in recruitment activities by arranging for physical examinations, verifying veterans’ preference, making job offers, coordinator EOD/release dates and processing pre-appointment security checks.
2. Office Automation: Uses personnel computer, word processing and/or other office automation equipment and various software programs to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve and print a variety of documents; produce correspondence, memoranda, directives, forms reports; create or maintain spreadsheets or databases, etc. Employee works from rough drafts, documents, written instructions or brief oral statements. May transmit, receive and/or acknowledge electronic mail,messages, forms and reports; insures proper handling and clearance, if required; and prints hardcopies or routes to other terminals. Material is created in draft or final form into a variety of formats utilizing terminology common to the program and organization. Ensures accuracy and timeliness of information, spelling, grammar construction, punctuation and presence of necessary enclosures.
