  • Maintained and developed sustainable trails systems following Forest Service trail specifications. Lived and worked in backcountry settings, including hiking up to 12 miles a day, carrying a 50lb pack in remote mountain terrain, under variety of weather conditions for up to 4 days at a time.
  • Served as project lead on GAOA projects, coordinating project development and priorities. Assisted in Rocky Mountain Youth Corps project development on wilderness trial systems. Cleared trails regularly of fallen trees and fixed water damage, installed signs, and built a three stringer bridge in the Holy Cross Wilderness using traditional hand tools.

  • I had the opportunity to work on a US Forest Service Wilderness Crew. I assisted with clearing fallen trees using crosscut saws, trail maintenance following Forest Service trail specifications. Collect trail use data, and live and work in a backcountry setting up to 4 days.

  • As a lab assistant a water sample containing the Diatom Amphora thumensis was collected from Wilmore Lake in the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Samples were cleaned of organic material for LM and SEM observations. A DNA edtraction was conducted using a Chelex100 method, Molecular markers were amplified by PCR using recommended protoco. Raw amplification projected were cleaned for sequencing and shipped to Function Bioscience in Madison WI.
