  • Developed a strong rapport with students (and parents) to foster open communication through Weekly Lesson Notes, emails, texts, and phone calls if necessary.
  • Designed curriculum or selected curriculum best suited for the student's age and abilities, as well as helping older kids with their school's band and orchestra music.
  • Created encouraging, fun and focused lesson atmosphere.
  • Arranged performance recitals and concerts to allow students to showcase musical talents.
  • Organized group sessions for peer collaboration, enhancing both social skills and musicianship among participants.
  • Highly encouraged flute and piano students to participate in the Cer tificate of Merit program give each Spring by the Music Teachers' Association of CA (MTAC.org). This online examination, which is prepared for in the student's lessons, tests students in the areas of Performance, Technique, Sight-reading, Music Theory, and Ear Training with a highly-qualified examiner for their instrument.
  • Volunteered at local Middle and High Schools coaching flute students with the fundamentals of tone production, articulation, and applying it to their band music. Gave the kids tips on how to practice difficult passages in their music.

  • Designed curriculum for 4th and 5th graders using the VAPA guidelines for the State of CA for General Music classes and the National Music Standards from Nafme, making the lessons fun and engaging for students. Taught students these skills through board games, written work, learning the recorder, ukulele, and keyboards, and having a Mozart Birthday Party each January for students to showcase their skills if desired.
  • Taught over 800 students per week at three elementary schools which consisted of general music students and beginning band students.
  • Managed and taught 3 beginning bands with each band ranging in numbers from 50-80 participants. Taught all band instruments, woodwinds, brass, percussion, and electric bass.
  • Utilized technology to deliver lessons in a fun and engaging way. Smart board, youtube, and PC.

Designed and developed an instrumental music program from the ground up, that grew from one beginning band to a beginning strings, orchestra, beginning band, and Concert Band programs.
