I have been working in the nursing field for about fifteen years and have loved all of the different aspects of nursing that I have been blessed to work in. I have worked as a CNA/LPN in long term care with geriatric patients, I have worked in home care, the clinic setting, I have quite a bit of experience with EMRs and documentation.
I spend my day reviewing new patient intakes. I review medications, prescription history, medical history, and insurance to see if the patient is appropriate for care or if they need a higher level of care. If they are not appropriate for care, I send them alternative resources in their area. This job requires exceptional organizational skills as well as multitasking, both which I am comfortable with and think I handled well.
I spent my day rooming patients and getting them ready to see the provider. I handled patient/family phone calls and documented them appropriately. I handled prescription requests, chart preparation, and referrals amongst other duties. I administered medications as well as vaccinations.
I was nominated and received a daisy award while working for Sanford Health. The daisy award goes to people who go above and beyond their job requirements.
