My name is Jacqueline Agyeman, and I am currently a Student Anesthesiologist Assistant at the University of New Mexico and a registered Pharmacist for over a decade in the United Kingdom. I am writing to express my interest in a clinical Anesthesia rotation opportunity at your esteemed department for the year 2026. As part of my training, I am keen to gain diverse clinical experiences, and I believe that Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center would provide an excellent platform for my professional growth. Therefore, I am particularly interested in rotating at your hospital to gain valuable experience and insights that would be beneficial in my future career as a CAA.
I would greatly appreciate any information you could provide regarding the application process, available opportunities, and any prerequisites for the rotation. I am eager to contribute to and learn from your distinguished team, and I am confident that this experience would be immensely rewarding for my professional development.
Thank you very much for considering my request. I look forward to the possibility of discussing this opportunity further.
Clinicals Experience
As a volunteer at Crisis Text Line, I played a crucial role in providing immediate assistance to texters in distress. My job was to offer crisis intervention that empowers texters by actively listening and showing empathy, helping them transition from intense moments of crisis to a state of calm and clarity. The process of supporting texters involves engaging with them through text messaging, where I ensure that each individual feels heard and understood. By employing empathetic communication techniques, I guide texters through their struggles, offering them the reassurance and support they need to move forward. Through my volunteering efforts, I contribute to the broader mission of Crisis Text Line, helping to build a more empathetic and supportive society. I supported all individuals in pain regardless of issue, age, race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
Volunteering at Food4Kids was a deeply fulfilling experience for me. The organization's mission resonated with my values, and I was inspired by the significant impact they were making in the lives of vulnerable individuals, particularly children.
Many students depend on free lunch programs for the majority of their meals. Unfortunately, when school is not in session during weekends and holidays, these children often face hunger and return to class undernourished, which hampers their ability to focus on learning.
At Food4Kids, I participated actively in addressing this critical issue. My role involved filling backpacks with nonperishable food items and distributing them to students in need, from kindergarten through high school. This initiative aimed to alleviate the hunger challenges these children were facing and ensure they had access to nutritious meals even outside of school hours.
The experience was not only rewarding but also eye-opening, highlighting the importance of community support in tackling food insecurity among young students. It reinforced my belief in the power of collective efforts to bring about positive change and improve the lives of those in need.
