Project Experience

NASA RASCAL Moon Crater Rover Competition 2024:

The goal of the project design and build a “Large Scale Lunar Crater Prospector.”

  • Utilizing hydrogen fuel cells and solar to power the rover.
  • Designed two CAD models for a lunar rover prototype enhancing its ability to explore craters on the south pole of the moon in extended periods of darkness to gather research on the presence of ice, helium three, and other substances.
  • Utilized teamwork with an international team to create and design a rover to fit the correct specifications needed to compete in NASA’s competition.

Astrodynamics Projects: Utilizing MATLAB to Track Satellites

  • Numerically integrated the differential Two-Body Equation of Motion using Euler’s Method.
  • Given the position and velocity vectors of satellites, created a MATLAB program to find the alternate and classical orbit elements (AOE’s and COE’s) of any satellite with an orbit around Earth.
  • Given a radar’s latitude, height above sea level, local sidereal time, and its sighting data, created a MATLAB program to find the position and velocity vectors of any satellite, their alternate and classical orbit elements, and what orbit they are in.
  • Using MATLAB Programs I determined launch windows for spacecrafts to reach a specific and desired orbit around Earth.

Design Build Fly Project With AIAA: 12/2022-05/2022 and 09/2022-5/2023:

  • Collaboration with fellow engineers with hands-on experience in many engineering applications to fabricate an RC electric model airplane.
  • Utilized applications of aerodynamics and electric propulsion to manufacture an aerospace system.
  • Wind tunnel experience to gain data to analyze the aircraft design and structure.
  • Designed airframe structure with aircraft stability and control, while overseeing mission requirements.
