Control, oversee and monitor the safe and efficient operation at the wood waste fired, 1450 psi, VU 40 CE D Type Boiler, 53Mw General Electric generator facility at Kettle Falls, Washington for Avista Utilities. Through integrated WonderWare systems. I start/stop all associated conveyors, pumps, fand, fuel and ash systems throughout the facility. Responsible for starting, load changes and removing the plant from online status. Monitor the operation of Electro Static Precipitator and operate within EPA delegated guidelines. Work closely with Auxiliary Operator to correct, trouble shoot and prevent any problems that may affect or interrupt generation. Also, responsible for the start up, operation and shutdown of an 8Mw Solar natural gas fired combustion turbine and heat recover steam generator. Responsible for plant logging of Megawatts generated, fuel usage and significant plant evolutions.

Oversaw the hiring, training and tasking of personal on my shift at the 58 Refuse Derived Fuel fired, 950Psi VU40 CE D Type boiler, 58Mw Toshiba Generator facility at Kapolei HI for Honolulu Project Of Waste Energy Recovery (HPower). Worked with Control Room Operator to coordinate starting, stopping, load changes and incidents that may affect generation or availability. Monitored and reported Megawatt totals and Refuse Derived Fuel usage over the day during midnight reporting. Worked with Auxiliary Operators to train, perform tasks, trouble shoot and prevent incidents that my lead to interruptions of generation. Scheduled, coordinated and oversaw the repairs to facility during annual outage. Prior to becoming a Shift Supervisor I was a Control Room Operator and Auxiliary Operator at HPower.

As a Boiler Technician Third Class on the United States Navy Ship USS Joseph Strauss DDG 16. I was assigned to #1 Fire Room. I started as a messenger tasked with logging temperatures, pressures, flows and oil levels on all steam/electric operated pumps and other equipment. As a Lower Level watchman. I was tasked with valving, starting and stopping of all steam turbine and electrical equipment on the lower level of the fire room. Consisting of: Fuel Oil Pumps, Condensate and Condensate Booster pumps. As a Burner Man I was tasked with the lighting of the boiler. Inserting burners, cleaning and assembling burners and monitoring the fires and fuel pressures of the boilers. As an Upper Level watchman. I was tasked with valving, starting and stopping of all steam and electrical equipment on the upper level. Consisting of: Forced Draft Fans, Boiler Feed pumps and Low Pressure Air Compressor. As a Fire Room Supervisor I was tasked with the light off, shut down and safe operation of two CE D Type, 1275Psi, 950deg boilers and all other associated equipment in the fire room. Additionally, I was also responsible for monitoring the logging of temperatures, pressure and flows of systems and pumps, and evolutions within the fire room. A well as manage and train the people assigned to my fire room and watch section.
