I am currently a senior at Northern Illinois University studying manufacturing engineering technology. I've been given the opportunity there to learn key skills such as computer-aided design proficiency, Microsoft Excel/Minitab analytics, C++/ladder logic programming, electrical circuit design, fluid system design, and machining. I have also obtained a lot of project management experience between my Eagle Scout project and the 6 theater productions I helped design and build sets for in high school. In addition to this, I have now been working in the automotive industry for 3 years as a technician which has taught me a great deal about mechanical systems and enhanced my problem-solving skills and hands-on ability. Currently, I am working as a part-time engineering intern at Elgin Sweeper Company where I have learned a great deal about lean manufacturing and design for manufacturability. My current goal is to apply my skills and knowledge gained from my internship into my senior design project and masters program where I hope to learn more about management.
