Supervise efficient operations of all plant equipments to achieve all plant objectives.

• Ensure the organisation’s HSE Management System is continually improved toward a best practice objective and kept up to date in response to legislative and circumstantial changes.
• Develop policies, procedures, work instructions, protocols, and templates in accordance with HSE requirements and influence the adoption of such systems throughout the business.
• Prepare and deliver regular reporting of HSE related information to the organisation.
• Manage external service provider relationships and procurement to deliver HSE policies, products and services, such as HSE training.
• Experienced in setting up a Safe System of Work for Tower cranes, Crawler cranes, Mobile cranes and straddle carrier.
• Being familiar with the relevant parts of the project Health and Safety Plan where lifting operations are to be carried out on a site.
• Able to assess the lifting operations to provide such planning, selection of cranes, lifting accessories and equipment, instruction and supervision as is necessary for the task to be undertaken safely.
• Ensure that adequate inspection / examination and maintenance of the equipment have been carried out prior to its use.
• Establish an effective procedure for reporting defects and incidents and taking necessary corrective action.
• Good leadership qualities and communication skills at all levels.
• Confident and professional in all duties undertaken.
• Ability to produce intricate lift plans, lift specific Method Statements, Risk Assessments and drawings.
• Competent in selection and qualified inspector of Lifting Accessories.
• Intimate knowledge of LOLER & BS7121 safety guidelines and regulations for Construction Lifting Operations.

· Ensure that all “assessments” as required by legislation are conducted and reviewed at relevant intervals and to maintain records of the same.

· To recommend control measures and advise on the standard of P.P.E. issued to employees.

· Conduct health and safety inspections and prepare reports of all the company’s operations.

· Immediately contact the Director responsible for health and safety if situations are found, that in the opinion of the Safety Manager, require immediate rectification or the stopping of any operation.

· To notify the Director responsible for health and safety if the corrective action agreed after any workplace inspection is not implemented by the arranged date.

· To carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and to record the findings on the relevant forms.

· Advise the Company Secretary of all incidents reportable under R.I.D.D.O.R.

· To highlight areas where training/certification is required to meet the standards imposed by Legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, or H.S.E. guidance.

· To bring new techniques for improving health, safety and welfare to the attention of the Director responsible for health and safety.
