Summary

Multifaceted Research Technician performing field and lab maintenance of advanced weather stations and systems. Offering four plus years applying standard and advanced weather instrumentation repairs, tactics and experimentation. Throughout the tenure with my company I was able to gain vast experience outside the scope of the standard research technician. Thanks to the resources allotted, staff and my initiative I have been able to experience all aspects of my company whether it is the in field, lab or office. Because of this I was able to get comprehensive experience and knowledge with each instrument outside of simply installing them. As well as providing experience with inventory, ordering, quality control, auditing and troubleshooting. With my skill set expanded, I have been provided with opportunities to deploy third party projects independently and thoroughly with minimal supervision as well as provide further in depth training to any other technician that has shown the initiative to want learn more. I am ready and confident with the skills I have acquired to begin leading and collaborating with other professionals who share my ambition for weather, weather instrumentation and research.

  • Supported senior management with creation and enhancement of research procedures, equipment management and inventory of meteorological instruments.
  • Worked on low voltage (~0-240v) electrical systems and instruments with the help of researchers and working independently when often required. Mainly dealing with various pieces of weather instrumentation. Ranging from repair, quality control, experimentation and troubleshooting.
  • Coordinated with research team members to support production and boost efficiency in repairs to a variety of weather instrumentation.
  • Eliminated procedure gaps by effectively being guided and taught by staff engineers to address and troubleshoot numerous instrumentation malfunctions to the extent that I could work without supervision and ensure the quota for ready and working instrumentation was being met.
  • Assisted in fabricating, installing and troubleshooting 3rd party projects both under a researcher/engineers supervision and independently.
  • Handled the troubleshooting tasks on malfunctioning/broken standard field instrumentation.
  • Travel short and long distances to administer maintenance on weather stations, often in very remote or hard to access locations.
  • Improved operations through consistent hard work and dedication.
