Roles

• Team Lead for the Say Something Violence and Suicide Prevention Program: conducts violence & suicide prevention trainings for staff & students
• Multi Tier Systems of Support Coordinator: facilitates biweekly meetings to plan, train, execute, and report MTSS implementation.
• 504 Plan Coordinator: Administers assessments and developes academic goals based and accomodations to address specific disabilities and barriers to learning.
• School Safety Team Member: participates in team meeting to develop and respond to safety needs and concerns
• School Improvement/Leadership Team Member: collaborates in team leadership meetings to analyze district and school data and sets educational goals for student and staff success.
• Beta Club Sponsor: coordinates Beta club leadership & community service activities, fundraising, peer mentorship and conference participation
• Truancy Intervention: Monitors student attendance, documented truancy, and represents the school in court proceedings
• Co-Creator of Be Brave Project: created & implemented universal and culturally relevant mental health screenings for all middle school students at Cherokee Middle school
• Mckinney Vento Act Lead: identifies and provides resources for homeless students and families

Duties

• Implements mental health crisis intervention including; suicide risk assessment, referral, and training for staff
• Responds to allegations of suspected child abuse and neglect reports by working with Family Safety program and surrounding county social services programs
• Collaborates with teachers and student's families to implement behavioral improvement plans based on established assessments.
• Organizes and implements staff trainings on self-care/stress management & childhood developmental trauma awareness.
• Supports teachers in developing trauma informed and positive behavior supports and strategies to increase student success
• Participates in weekly team meetings with teaching staff to discuss student achievement, behavior, and attendance
• Conducts assessments, trainings, and workshops for staff wellness and mental health
• Assists Principals with reevaluating and writing school policies in regards to mental health, behavior, and attendance.
• Facilitates individual and group counseling

• SAGE Grant Recipient, Drafted & Proposed Evidence Based Program, Teaching Family Model
• Monitored and supervised the daily cottage routine, including wake-up times, meal times, activities, education, chores, spiritual practice, study/quiet times, bedtimes, etc
• Hired, Evaluated, and Mentored Resident Counselors
• Developed intervention strategies to address behavior and teach life skills
• Collaborated with CCH Director to write policies and procedures for resident counselors
• Planned activities and recreational opportunities for the residents and maintained a log of expenses and receipts with each activity
• Trained CCH staff on the effects of trauma upon mental and physical health, in addition to conducting trainings on how to respond to behavioral issues
• Created successful work schedules for each team member to maintain deadlines and fully staff shifts.
