Annika Gaus

Part-time summer intern with the New York City Law Department's Special State Law Enforcement Defense Unit. Assisted attorneys in daily tasks such as organizing case files, retrieving documentary discovery from the client agency, and maintaining attorney spreadsheets for litigation tasks. Served as liaison between attorney supervisor and staff in efforts to ensure timely compliance with court-ordered discovery.

For two years in high school, I voluntarily worked as a catechist teaching both first and fourth graders religion. I taught around 20-30 children for an hour and a half every Sunday by myself, and I would have to give them assignments and grades like a regular teacher.

• Played games, worked on puzzles, and read books to young children.

• Organized and cleaned home after activities by picking up toys and straightening up play room.
• Maintained a clean and organized environment to ensure the well-being of children under care.
