I assist students with special needs under the direction of a certified teacher. I also assist the teacher in general daily classroom activities,help special needs students, and care for their physical, emotional health and safety, affirming their abilities, and striving to promote dignity in all relationships.

• Working with students who may be aggressive or disruptive in class
• Behavior support which includes physical management (training provided upon hire)
• Consultation and collaboration with Special Education and Regular Education
• Collaborated with teacher to create customized classroom environment integral to students' needs.

As Behavioral Specialist, I provide direct therapy in a natural environment at home and/or out in the community. I work closely with each child and families to increase the acquisition of skills in all areas of development.

• Work one-on-one with kids with special needs/developmental disabilities
• Receive extensive training to provide Early Intervention/behavior therapy/ Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) – to create lasting change for our kids and their families
• Implement individualized treatment programs designed by program supervisors such as: discrete trial training, caregiver training, pivotal response treatment, Picture Exchange , and Communication System.
• Accurately record objective daily data to reflect client progress toward goals.
• Maintain effective communication with team members and supervisors.

• Acquired baseline data and implemented approved programs using behavioral technology appropriately, neutrally and consistently.
• Implemented individualized treatment plans developed by clinical supervisors to serve patients with diverse needs.
• Developed and maintained clear, individualized documentation on each patient.
• Updated records and prepared reports to outline program actions, results and recommended improvements.

• I work directly with an assigned class of approximately 20-25 students, acting as a positive adult role model, coach, and mentor.
• I have a genuine interest in the growth, development, and provision of a safe and nurturing environment for the students they teach.
