Hard-working Site Manager with 12 years of experience. Educated in OSHA safety requirements as well as Electrical NFPA70E certified and experienced leading team of over 30 workers. I've managed the construction and commissioning of 10 Microsoft Data Centers.
Managed project documentation including submittals, RFIs, change orders, and closeout documentation for clear communication with Microsoft and other contractors.
Managed multiple MEP projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion within budget constraints. Oversaw commissioning activities for completed projects to ensure proper functioning of all MEP systems prior to occupancy handover during all portions of commissioning. Performed regular job site observations to provide direction for general contractor personnel and subcontractor laborers. Led weekly production, safety and operations contractor meetings, facilitating stronger communication, and helping to resolve critical issues.
Collaborated closely with senior Microsoft management to align project objectives with strategic company initiatives, ensuring that efforts contributed to overall business growth. Also, managed risk assessments and implemented mitigation strategies to minimize potential issues during project execution.
Inspect completed installations and observe operations to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards. Design, implement, maintain, or improve electrical instruments, equipment, facilities, components, products, or systems for industrial and commercial purposes. Supervise or train project team members as necessary on proper use of electrical operation equipment and test equipment such as Fluke 789, Emerson TREX, Emerson 475. Set up and operate specialized or standard test equipment to diagnose, test, or analyze the performance of electronic components, assemblies, or systems. Conduct or supervise the installation and operation of electronic equipment and systems such as DCS cabinets and PLC's. Educate equipment operators on the proper use of racking medium voltage and low voltage switchgear breakers when energized using electronically controlled racking device. Operate and make modifications to the ABB DCS system based functional checkout and process needs by changing Digital Outputs, Digital Inputs, Analog Outputs and Analog Inputs. Verify single lines and wiring diagrams to ensure that medium and Low voltage switchgear and MCC's are ready for commissioning. Insert, verify and pull data from relays monitoring equipment such as switchgear, MCC's and VFD's.
Oversee new electrical equipment installation such as Motor Control Centers, switchgear, DCS cabinets, control room equipment. Check out loops with commissioning personnel to verify proper termination and wiring configuration. Have daily morning safety meetings to go over specific topics and discuss plan of the day with all of commissioning team. Train Wood personnel on proper use of electrical equipment such as sending a 4-20mA signal to DCS with Fluke 789 and HART 475 as well as electrical checkout of low and medium voltage switchgear, motor control centers and transformers. Worked with client and Wood management to organize a schedule and execute a plan to complete commissioning in a timely and precise manner. Bench test and range instruments and devices before installation in the field to verify device capabilities and specifications according to loop sheets. Test and commission low/medium voltage motors and cables (Megger) to verify compliance with NEC and insure equipment is safe to energize. Work with plant to organize and complete operation and performance testing for equipment.
Test points from the field back to the DCS verifying discrete and analog signals. Calibrate and range field devices such as pressure transmitters, flow transmitters, temperature transmitters, level transmitters, flow switches, pressure switches, speed switches and level switches using calibrated test equipment. Inspect and prepare switchgear and motor control centers for energization. Compare and verify wiring diagrams issued to the field to confirm accuracy and compatibility with current systems. Assist with document control for calibration ranges and setpoints for all instrumentation devices.
As a Patriot Missile Operator outside of providing detailed coverage from ICBM, Short Range and long range aerial attacks, I serviced and maintained the missile operational systems. This includes greasing and verifying all service charts are completed and inspecting electrical components to verify no corrosion or damage has taken place. Troubleshooting generators , radio and fiber communication loss, electrical circuit failure and mechanical failure.
Install conduit 1/2"-3" of various types including rigid, aluminum, PVC and plastibond. Install cable tray 12"-36" of various types including aluminum and galvanized. Terminate cables in lighting, transformers, PLC's, DCS cabinets, panels and switchgear. Assisted with inspections of all electrical equipment for all crafts to insure our safety standard was consistently upheld. Check points for continuity to DCS and verify that all terminations are correct according to loop sheets. Send 4-20mA signals to verify correct ranges for both field devices and equipment with lead technicians. Assisted with wiring diagram verification for switchgear and low voltage motor control centers.
