Summary

For roughly three months, I worked as an summer school teaching assistant, and I thoroughly enjoyed working with wonderful students in in fifth grade. My classroom management style is friendly and firm - students know I am a caring classroom, but I am also able to correct any misbehavior with a calm, consistent approach. Daily communication with parents through phone calls, messages and in-person meetings is part of my focus. Through these open lines of communication, I am able to update parents on their child's progress and collaborate with parents and teachers to enhance the connection between teachers parents and students to ensure that each student receives the support they need to excel at school and at home. My favorite part of the day is working one-on-one with students who need extra help to master concepts, which allows me to get to know them on an individual basis so that I can better work with teachers in the classroom to provide them with the academic support as well as classroom atmosphere that best suits their learning style.
