Amalia Zeitlin

A dedicated, hard-working musician with excellent interpersonal and communication and writing skills. I am a team-player who honors commitment and puts passion and time into everything I am invested in.

Castleman Quartet Program: Studied in the summers of 2013 and 2014, under violinists Charles Castleman and Laura Bossert, and chamber music coaches Mark Rudoff, Allyson Dawkins, Basil Vendryes, Alan Harris, Kyoko Hashimoto, and Terry King.

Meadowmount School of Music: Studied in the summer of 2012 under pedagogue Sally Thomas and chamber coach Steven Rochen.

Musique en Graves: Studied in 2013 at this two week program in Bordeaux, France under violinist Max Zorin and conductor/violinist Zacharia Zorin.

9/2013 - Present: String quartets and quintets during my college career, under chamber coaches Michael Zaretsky, Heather Braun, and Mike Reynolds.

9/2013 - Present: Boston University Chamber Orchestra, Symphony Orchestra, and Opera orchestra, under the batons of Dr. David Hoose, Dr. Scott Allen Jarett, Dr. Anne Howard Jones, and Dr. Tiffany Chang.

9/2014 - Present: The Boston University BosTones: Boston University's premier co-ed a cappella choir. The group has received several awards, and performs often at local venues.

9/2011-5/2012: Las Cruces High School Swing Choir: An elite group of 16-20 voices. We performed in March 2012 at Carnegie Hall

as part of the National Youth Choir.

9/2008-5/2011: El Paso Youth Symphony Orchestras: Participated in the El Paso Youth Symphony Orchestras in 8th, 9th, and 10th grades (under the batons of Dr. Benjamin Vickers, Dr. Benjamin Loeb, and Dr. Andy Moran, and during the third year we played a side-by-side concert with the El Paso Symphony Orchestra.

1/2005 - 1/2013 All-State Choir and Orchestra, organized through the New Mexico Music Educators Association. Participated in New Mexico All-State Youth Choir in 4th, 5th, 7th, and 8th grade, New Mexico All-State High School Choir in 11th grade, and New Mexico All-State Orchestra in 9th, 10th and 12th grade.

Violin: Started at age 7. Performed with various ensembles and have participated in several summer music festivals.

Voice: Studied for 8 years and participated in numerous ensembles.

Dance and acting: Seven years of dance classes, including ballet, tap, jazz, hip-hop, salsa, modern, swing, and show choir. Several years of acting classes and performances in plays before high school.

Teaching: taught private violin lessons to beginning students during the summer of 2014.

Language Skills:

• French: Six years of speaking, writing and reading experience.
• Hebrew: Four years of reading experience.
