As a Line Check Airman for Delta Air Lines on the Boeing 767 and Boeing 767-ER, duties and responsibilities included initial flight instruction in the aircraft for new Captains and new First Officers coming to the aircraft. Training included all systems and physical attributes of the 2 aircraft as well as instruction of the nuances of international flying operations. Duties also included check rides after training as well being assigned crews to meet to administer biannual check rides.
Served as a Aircrew Program Designee and Simulator Flight Instructor administering flight instruction on the MD-11 and check rides to fleet pilots new to the aircraft and those coming in for annual training. Was also one of the first Aircrew Program Designee(APD) First Officer certified by the FAA at Delta Air Lines. This was normally a position held by Captains. As an APD my duties were to give FAA Oral exams and FAA rating rides in the simulator.
