As a journeyman millwright and General Foreman I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of projects
Including new construction projects, plant shutdowns and emergency shut down’s
I have worked at facilities such as, Power generation, refineries, LPG extraction facilities, Paper mills, grain elevators, port facilities, bottling plants, food product plants, fed-x, steel mills, and aluminum producing plants
Including Hydro Electric Turbines, Gas Turbines, Steam Turbines and Generators types of hydrogen cooled, water cooled, and air cooled
Employed bt general contractors including Hollinger Construction, Harder Mechanical, JHKelly, Inducco, Safe Construction, Bechtel, VA tech
Also for OEM companies such as Westinghouse (Steam and gas turbine division), General Electric ( APM ) turbine steam and gas turbine division, Kaymer Construction, and Voit
With most all of them I have played a role in supervising in the form of a foreman or general foreman
During my time as a heating, refrigeration and air conditioning technician I had the experience of trouble shooting refrigeration, heat pumps, and solar equipment
Some of their operational components such as electrical, pneumatic, water, natural gas, water, valves and compressors
When employed by Northwest Hardwoods Weyerhaeuser I the night shift supervisor was not only responsible for the crew and their safety, but the operation of the machines
For the most part it was up to me to keep it up and running
I had the assistance of 1 electrician and 1 millwright from the saw mill when I had to have their help
Some of the equipment we ran were dos computer electronic and pneumatic operated chop saws, single pneumatic chop saws, hydraulic and electrical finger jointer, radial frequency panel gluer, electrical over and under drum sander, chain and belt conveyors with electro magnets, safety switches, and electronic stops
Currently as a journeymen millwright I have had the experience working directly with and in conjunction with I&E groups
Some of the work has been during breakdowns and some on new design projects
During my time with Dresser Rand I obtained a great deal of knowledge on trouble shooting systems
At sight locations where I was needed to asses and determine the source of the problem
Some of the problems were mechanical, which I have a great deal of knowledge and experience, but most of them were either on the hydraulic, pneumatic, or sensors controls side
I have done extensive work on installing and troubleshooting thermal couples, axial rotor position proximity probes, along with vibration analysis
Other control issues I have dealt with come from a wide variety of machinery and their associated systems, some of the systems containing product and some of the systems being control design
Throughout my employment with Dresser –Rand, an OEM company, as General Foreman
My involvement has been with all aspects, safety, quality, and technical aspects of machinery, assigning work to be performed, and ensuring scheduled time for jobs is met
Assisting clients by, placing factory orders, scheduling and planning of projects, including vendors and sub-contractors
During turnarounds and during production, I have been responsible for, the installation of new, replacement, repairing, overhauls, trouble shooting, and improvements of equipment
Such types steam turbines, reciprocating compressors, centrifugal compressors, blowers, electric motors, gearboxes, pumps, and generators from under one megawatt up to 650 megawatt
Along with their associated equipment such as lube oil systems, sour gas seals systems, and their PLC systems
Under service contract agreements with clients such as Shell, Tesoro, Chevron, B.P
Conoco Phillips, University of Washington, UC Irvine University, University of San Diego, Douglas County Forest Products, Clearwater Paper, Boise Cascade, Wheelerbrator
When needed, I served as a service representative on single stage and multi stage turbines, and their associated equipment from manufactures such as Worthington, Terry, Elliot, Dresser, G.E
And Westinghouse
I have knowledge of different boilers systems and steam condensing, non-condensing, and extraction systems
I’m familiar with basic computer skills.
