I decided to take my optical knowledge and skills and apply them to a private practice instead. The demographic of patients and customers was quite different from my experience with LensCrafters which I believe helped shape me into an even more patient and empathetic person. People from all walks of life have come into the office with each of them giving me a different outlook on life. I also work at Hour Eyes while continuing to put in time at LensCrafters, showcasing my dedication to my work as well as my strong work ethic.
My flexibility from Kohls has passed on to my work in the optical field. Most LensCrafterts locations including the one I work at are hybrid, which means I not only do sales, but work for the doctor as well. I am also trained in the lab which means I can cut lenses to make glasses within an hour and I have the proper knowledge to do final inspections on orders. My location has a small staff of around six people, so I am now used to having to bounce around these different tasks. For example, once I come out from doing a pre-assessment for the doctor, I will answer any incoming phone calls, and once the phones have stopped ringing, I will help the customers in store as well as the ones coming in.
I am an extremely flexible person and that can be seen in my work experience at Kohls. I was running around the store doing everything from truck, to checkout, to Amazon returns. Despite my ability to perform these tasks, my talents were specifically put to use at the customer service desk. At customer service I would take returns, answer phone calls, and handled any difficult questions or issues brought in by customers. I would say the main purpose I served was solving problems.
