I have a very deep respect for the culture that has been carefully created at Boeing. I have always appreciated the work ethic, attitude, and competency of the many Boeing employees that I know. They are quick to boast about how Boeing cares about them and is concerned about their growth and development. My life has taken some unexpected turns. The recent changes brought on by Covid-19 and other factors have made it clear that it is time for a career change.
Although my path into the airplane manufacturing field is unconventional, I believe it has prepared me to be a profitable contributor to Boeing for several reasons. I grew up working at a large camp and conference center since I was 13 years old. During that time I learned a strong work ethic, how to be a team player, and the importance of paying attention to details. My time in college and graduate school taught me how much I don’t know, instilling in me a strong desire to keep growing and learning. My time working in church ministry has brought about valuable lessons in how to treat every person I meet with love and respect. My time as a chaplain taught me how to listen to those who are going through hard times and to treat them with compassion and understanding.
My ultimate desire is to begin a career in the environmental health and safety field, but I am excited about any opportunity that I can get to work hard, learn, and contribute to the stellar culture at Boeing.
