My employment at Coast Garage Door has given me exposure to unique environmental conditions and allowed me to expand my knowledge of the overhead door industry. I've enjoyed learning the challenges the Oregon Coast, with its wind, rain and salt air, poses on doors and their components. Another facet of my employment at Coast, is the more remote location and inability to quickly get materials. This has strengthened my planning and coordinating skills.

In my position at Oregon City Garage Door, I continued my career as a overhead garage door technician. I did everything from service and install residential doors and operators to run multiple day, multiple man commercial and industrial projects. Some of this work took me out of town for extended periods of time.

As a Lead Technician, I was able to expand my knowledge and abilities to coordinate and complete large projects and difficult repairs. I helped junior technicians with training and advise. I excelled as a liaison between all the different people involved in any given project. This included salesman, schedulers, engineers, manufacturers, suppliers, architects, contractors, project managers, and other trades.

• Commercial Service Technician, knowledgeable in and capable of all aspects of installation and service of overhead doors. I'm able to work on all types of doors including sectional, rolling steel, fire and high speed doors. Installation, troubleshooting and repairing operators up to what is allowed by Oregon and Washington State electrical code. Working knowledge of dock equipment repair, limited knowledge of installation of dock equipment.

• Installation and repair of microwave communication equipment and towers. Lifting heavy loads with cranes, helicopters and rigging, fall protection/prevention and working safely at extreme heights. This work was always out of town and usually out of state. This allowed me to work on my planning and organizational skills as some of the locations were extremely remote and the posed unique situations.

• Duties included residential and commercial installation and service. Responsible for receiving inventory and assembling order, organization of warehouse and work truck. They are a small company so everyone had to be very self sufficient, delivery of products and equipment was your own responsibility.

• This was my first door job. I started as a residential helper and continued to learn every field position and some office positions as well. I left and returned a few times for various reasons including welding school.
