- DLA and the warfighter by providing excellent Material Examining work. This includes but is not limited to identifying the type of material, using knowledge of identifying processes to stow in a designated area by sorting and staging in preparation for the order to be processed. While conducting the process under time requirements and working through issues that arise, and collaborating with Supervisors, Work Leads, Material Examiners & Identifiers, and others. In working as a team, we accomplish not only our mission but the mission of DLA, in support of the Warfighter.- Checking of available stock, performing floor to book counts. - Taking weights and measurements of packed-out material, to determine best stowing location.- Changing storage requirements for warehouse locations.- Performs freight shipment and transportation support functions through various transportation systems.- Making labels for loose material, reprinting MRO's, stocking material used for packing- Printing out batch reports to locate missing MRO's.- Processing high priority and exception requisitions received through various means of communication.- I can complete all my daily tasks and then some without any supervision- Sorting through material to assure kind, count, and condition.- Reading and understanding Job Breakdown Sheets and SOP's- Proper use of Personal Protection Equipment such as harnesses, seat belts, safety glasses, gloves, etc.- Use of DSS to research material and locations, checking inventory levels before stowing material to ensure material will not exceed max storage- Performs a variety of duties while coordinating shipping instructions.- Coordinate with supervisors and leads of discrepancies and other issues to find solutions.- Follow all guidelines in the JBS including a clean as you go mentality to ensure Audit Readiness.- I examine, identify, and verify a variety of commodities and shipping methods.- I report over, short, misdirected, or damaged material.- I can select containers from a variety of standard sized containers, no supervision I select, store, stack, and palletize material based on property class and routes along processing lines.- I assure shipments are properly loaded into the correct conveyances.- I have recounted or searched other storage locations to help in determining the basis for over, short, or misplaced material.- Verifying stock numbers, nomenclature, and quantity. - Ensures the accuracy, completeness, and timely movement of material to CONUS and/or OCONUS customers.- I assist others with problems and questions about picking, packing, and stowing.- Determining method of pack and type of cushioning material in a safe, accurate and quality minded manner.- Works in bulk sending multiple pallets to designated locations.- Well versed in completing, deleting, changing, and adding Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDRs) as needed.
