Recognized as Teacher of the Year three times for exceptional contributions in my years of teaching.
Responsible for three middle school campuses. Pulled out migrant students and serviced them with the Pearson Connexus program to help with Mathematics and Reading. In addition to the software I would assist students with homework and assignments as well as providing assistance during classroom (inclusion).
As an 8th grade science teacher I was responsible for teaching the 8th grade Science TEKS and getting my students prepared for the Science STAAR. My last year I was able to obtain one if not the highest scores in district with an 86%. I was also the campus Teacher of the Year my last year there.
At Chapa elementary I was the 5th grade science teacher and this campus was under TEA due to being a low performance campus in science. I was asked to help the campus by moving. That campus (Chapa elementary) was at 34% in science. My first year there we jumped to 68%, 2nd year 74% and then 77% my last year along with a Distinction in Science. I coached at the high school level Varsity Assistant Softball Coach. Teacher of the year my 2nd year in Chapa elementary.
I was responsible for the 5th grade science state assessment at the campus (the only science teacher). Additionally, I coached (volunteer) with flag football, softball, soccer, etc with students from my campus. Teacher of the Year my 2nd year in Mission CISD.
I have been certified in First Aid and CPR the past 17+ years.
