I went to Basic Combat Training for the Army National Guard, where I learned the skills and knowledge to perform essential functions common to the military, including;

• first aid
• physical fitness
• basic self-defense
• marksmanship
• land navigation
• time management
• teamwork
• and personal development

I then completed Advanced Individual Training to qualify for Unit Supply Speacialist, I learned to supervise or perform duties involving;

• requests
• receivings
• storage
• issue out
• accountability
• and preservation of expendable supplies and equipment.

I was also taught to prepare and maintain organizational supply records and forms, receive and inspect inventories for future deliveries, maintain the accounting system associated with supply management, secure and control supplies, use computer applications in work assignments, and practice general clerical procedures.

Duration of BCT and AIT was a total of 5 months.

As a Tool Rental Associate I was in charge of the follow procedures;

• Assisted customers with selecting tools and equipment based on their individual needs.
• Provided technical assistance to customers regarding the operation of rental products.
• Maintained accurate records of all rentals, returns and payments received.
• Organized and stocked shelves with a variety of tools and supplies in an orderly fashion.
• Ensured that all equipment was clean, maintained, tested and in safe working condition before renting it out.
• Processed rental transactions quickly and accurately using computerized checkout system.

As a sales associate, I performed the duties I was given, such as:

• Assist customers with product selection, sizing, and styling.
• Perform cashier duties, such as accepting payments, issuing receipts, and counting money back change.
• Provide accurate information about products, prices, and services.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of store merchandise and policies.
• Organize stockroom shelves according to size, color, or style.
• Restock shelves as needed to ensure sufficient inventory levels.
• Conduct inventories on a regular basis to track stock levels.
• Maintain cleanliness of store environment, including floors, windows, and displays.

I was a closer, so I usually sat in the back with the manager and did a final register cash count.
