Summary

APPLAUSE/UTEST 2011 - 2023: Remote Senior Test Architect Enterprise Team Test Leader Team Test Leader Tester RESPONSIBILITIES: Full time contract driven positions responsible for recruiting, training and managing teams delivering testing services while serving as the conduit between the client, the business and a global crowdsourced workforce.

Managed teams from 6 to 150 testers as a player/manager. Served as the primary strategist in working with the company's most important clients. Lead daily standup calls, advised business leadership on potential risks to business and potential opportunities for growth. Position required strong project management skills and advanced planning and preparation. Each product required training the workforce on the application under test, including writing test cases, setting the deliverables and expectations, following up to ensure work was done properly including setting up stop gap measures to adjust to results and ensuring on time completion. Like the position applied for, ensuring on time completion and delivering top notch standards was hyper-critical and was achieved through a workforce with a wide range of socio-economic backgrounds and competencies, all who had to understand the communications flawlessly to deliver. I traveled often to meet with clients and work on site as well as coordinate remotely and be the conduit between the client, the testers and the business. My ability to advocate simultaneously for all constituents established the business trusting a contractor with their most important, highest valued and longest term contracts. Clients included some of the world's most visited sites and used applications including: ESPN, Best Buy, L’Oreal, Disney, Michael Kors, Burger King, Arbys, McDonalds, Toys R’ Us, MLB, NHL, NFL - and tested over 500 different products over the course of a decade. ACCOMPLISHMENTS: Many of the ideas I initiated and proved viable became part of best practices as this company scaled from a start-up to the world leader in testing services. Became known as the go to for complex, and large scale projects. Revised and standardized screening methods to vet new testers/contractors coming into the business resulting in more reliable testers and consistency. Implemented new test methods to maximize coverage of testing while removing redundant unproductive efforts. Revised expensive test plans saving thousands in execution while improving quality of results. Proved the concept of allowing non-employee’s access to management functions which was instrumental to the scaling of the business. Pitched a new compensation method for testers that saved the company millions while realigning unproductive tester behavior that came from out of sync incentives. Devised a concept of "rapid response teams" that was later sold as a product, and was the template for revising how workloads were distributed. Was the number one billing contractor in a field of over 250,000 testers. Won "Tester of the Year" award three years in a row.
