Summary

I am a non-traditional student pursuing a second career in service oriented work. I begin with a strong foundation in advocacy and human rights principles. The chance to join a learning environment focused on the promotion of fairness, universality, and dignity has been a true gift. I am beyond enlivened by it and ready to work towards direct human betterment in the most immediate local need as well as potential need abroad. From over 25 years in a safety and risk-management field, I bring understanding of problem-solving and conflict resolution, combined with skills in adaptability, communication, and organizational planning. I am eager to learn new tools from project partners and Amrita faculty while also adapting prior experience to Human Rights applications through the Live-In Labs opportunity. I am thoroughly excited with the possibility of contributing to real world, positive results, in a community. Ready to embrace hands on challenges with an open mind for development within the field and an open heart for personal growth along side community members.
