As a dedicated future educator with a positive attitude and strong communication skills, I have successfully supported students at Armand Bayou Elementary School and Sam Houston Elementary. My experience in tutoring and assisting in special education classes has enabled me to build meaningful relationships with diverse learners. After completing 4 years of American Sign Language in high school and volunteering at many events for deaf students, I discovered my desire to become an elementary school teacher. I have proven to have a hard work ethic by working almost full-time at Bath and Body Works while completing my degree.
I help assist Mrs. Jackson teach her 2nd grade class as needed. I also participate in the yearly activities at the school , such as the Trunk or Treat, to help the students in my community.
I tutored children in their after-school program as a part of my special populations course. I designed lessons and taught the same elementary children weekly so I was able to build relationships with the children, while also helping to reinforce difficult concepts in school.
As a student at Clear Lake High School, I was a teacher's assistant for the lower level choir classes for two years. I was also an assistant in the Adaptive PE class and enjoyed interacting with the Special Education students in the gym and during field days.
