Coupled Tank:
- Coupled Tanks is observed as a system consisting of two tanks with a pump and a water basin. These tanks have a back plate in which they are mounted; the lower tank contains an orifice for which the flow is measured. Water flows into a main water reservoir below. From the water reservoir below, the water is pumped back up into Tank 1. The system is measured by assigning variables to each tank where there are pressure sensors to measure system feedback.
Senior Design Project: Ocean Wave Energy
- The objective of this research is to design more efficient, cost-effective, reliable, and viable OWCs (an oscillating water column ). Understanding and mitigation of the current challenges associated with wave energy conversion will increase the use of these devices and therefore equally reduce the use and dependence on fossil fuels. The team's goal is to design an OWC to be used specifically on the coast of North Carolina, and integrate it into the power economy.
