I started this job in high school as a kennel "kid". This job was to take care of dogs and cats who were boarding or undergoing treatment. I learned to restrain animals for treatment and in preparation for surgery. I performed minor maintenance tasks as needed. My last year there I was a veterinary technician, which entailed administering medication, assisting with surgery, preparing surgery packs, doing blood tests, doing dentistries, and ordering supplies.
