Abbigal Triou

Worked throughout the FSD to substitute for K-12 classrooms. Teaching a variety of subjects and students.

Taught four classes of ninth graders and two classes of AP government. Created a curriculum and lessons each day for students. Provided an environment for students to grow academically but also personally and as community members.

Worked as a one-on-one paraeducator to a student with an IEP and a BIP. Got to work with a few others on their math, reading, writing, and speech skills. Worked closely with the SPED/Resource Rooms.

Worked with students in middle school english and math classes during their summer school program.

Worked with students in the special educator program during the Extended School Year program over the summer. Worked one-on-one with multiple students working on their reading, writing, adaptive, math and social skills.

Stepped into our player filled role my first year on the team. Helped presidents organize travel plans, cars, payments. Organized meetings and plans; taking notes on big rugby meetings that year. Would help organize games and match times. I ended up doing this on top of being president through year of 2020-2021.

Organized special activities and events for existing club members, including service projects, matches and procedural meetings. Kept good relations with other club sports, our campus directors, along with reaching out to the community such as Anacortes and Chuckanut Bay adult and youth programs. Was in charge of budgets, travel, matches, recruitment, and communication with players and coaches.

Demonstrated exceptional decision-making abilities during high-pressure situations, maintaining a calm demeanor and focusing on passenger safety. Served as a reliable and dependable team member on and off the field. Communicated with coaches and leadership on what the best plan of attack for practices, team dynamics and more were to improve our team each day.

Worked with all the other teams captains, coaches, and coordinators to create a league schedule. Worked with them to implement motley teams and games during tournaments. Worked to provide a good schedule of competition for our adult womens+ team.

For the last year or two we have been working hard to create a Girls High School rugby program in Bellingham. We have got a few girls out throughout the years and are hoping to rebuild/restart this upcoming fall. I have helped be the main coach for the past year, providing practices for athletes for build on their skills and community with one another. We are hoping to grow into a full program in the next couple years.

Created a fun, safe, and engaging environment and lessons for students of all ages learn a variety of sports. Teaching life skills through sports such as teamwork, integrity, responsibility, and perseverance.

Co-taught a classroom of students in the Extended School Year program for BSD. Worked one-on-one with students and as a whole class. Focused on improving their IEP and BIP goals throughout the program.

Boosted team morale by consistently providing constructive feedback and celebrating individual achievements. Facilitated goal-setting sessions with athletes, helping them establish clear objectives aligned with their long-term aspirations.
