Supervises caseload of adult offenders under the jurisdiction of the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, Office of Field Probation and Parole Services. Make regular contacts with reentrants in the community and office. Conduct interviews with reentrants to assess their risk status for supervision. Currently assigned to Preparatory Unit, which involves supervising reentrants assigned to Community Corrections Centers and/or Contracted Community Facilities.
Refers reentrants to outside agencies for specialized therapy in order to assist them in dealing with problems that need special attention. These areas of specialization may deal with jobs, drugs, alcohol, sexual and mental health problems. Communicate with CCC/CCF staff when the reentrant is required to attend treatment.
Develops and modifies treatment plans based upon the needs of the reentrants. Special conditions imposed by Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole employees will provide the basis for the supervision plan.
Works closely with CCC/CCF staff to ensure reentrants are following the rules of the center and sanctioning them accordingly when they have violations/infractions.
Participates in Board hearings by presenting evidence, testifying, arranging for witnesses, and performing related work in order to facilitate the incarceration of a reentrant or support continuation of a reentrant on parole.
Conducts investigations by interviewing reentrants and others to obtain relevant facts necessary to carry out the purpose of the investigation.
Records reentrant contacts made in the field and in the office. Makes contacts with local police authorities and other state parole offices. Keeps notes pertaining to field and office contacts in a field book in order to maintain up-to-date information. Logs reports completed on an activity sheet and presents the information to a Parole Supervisor who monitors agents' activities on a daily basis.
Monitors reentrants’ conduct and activities by contacting them at home and at work. The number of contacts required varies with the level of supervision. Conducts interviews with reentrants assigned to other agents in their absence when required.
Monitors status of outstanding criminal charges against reentrants by reviewing the information from local police authorities, district magistrates, and the Court of Common Pleas and determines what further actions need to be taken by the Board in regard to the new criminal charges.
Arrests reentrants who have violated the conditions of their parole by requesting a warrant for their arrest from a superior and physically taking them into custody with the assistance of police agencies or other Parole Agents.
Establishes initial and on-going eligibility by interviewing clients, gathering and providing information, verifying eligibility criteria, completing all required paperwork.
Conducts compliance reviews with TANF recipients to determine if a sanction is appropriate and complete sanction process, which includes completing all appropriate sanction paperwork.
Liaison between the Beaver County Assistance and Beaver County Children and Youth. Open and maintain CYS cases.
Attend and provide testimony at appeal hearings.
Maintenance of cases and management of caseload by completing annual renewals and semi-annual reports.
Maintenance of case records by recording narratives, maintaining accurate information in case records.
Communicates by responding to incoming written correspondences, returning all phone calls and documenting action, completing required reports, and inform clients of transaction in the case.
Maintain controls for four District Offices, six Sub-Office, two DO Institutional Offices and twelve Institutional Parole Offices, and develop reports due to Central Office.
Participate in meetings on difficult and complex issues and present ides, perspective and suggestions to resolve situations.
Process requisitions in SAP Supplier Relationship Management System and Agency
Purchasing System for twenty-four offices. Monitor receipt of supplies to ensure invoices are paid.
Process Performance Ratings, as directed by the Regional Director.
Generate Request to Fill Positions, Requests for Temporary Assignments, and Requests for
Desk Audits in the Position Action Request System (PAR).
Review recommendation hire packages, checking for completeness of required forms, accuracy of information and timeliness of submission. Prepare cover memo for Regional
Director and submit to the Workforce Management Division.
Create Job Descriptions in the Online Prescription Description System, as requested.
Create online surplus reports for submission to DGS.
Analyze staff operations and procedures in order to detect problems and inefficiencies and provide improvements.
Operate Expressions ID computer camera in order to take and prepare photo ID cards for staff.
Maintain database of state vehicles in the Western Region, as liaison to the Automotive Officer in Central Office.
Have a complete knowledge of the Board's Policies and Procedures.
Develop spreadsheets and databases in Excel and Microsoft Word in order to monitor and track information vital to the Western Region for over 250 employees.
Responsible for tracking all offenders at the PVCCC. Updating Center staff with home plan investigation outcomes. Tracking offender's completion dates and fowarding Release Orders to the appropriate prisons. Responsible for tracking, updating and forwarding to Central Office the PVCCC monthly report.
Transcribe Pardon Board Investigations, Pre-Sentence Investigations, Pre-Parole Investigations, Arrest Reports, Warrants, Release Orders and several other types of reports from handwritten reports, letters and memos.
Open cases by making correct entries in Active Offender, Treatment Tracking, Investigation
Programs and Supervisor Controls.
Maintain case files by making statistical changes in the appropriate computer programs.
Preparing Hearing Waiver packets for parole agents and forwarding to the appropriate hearing coordinator.
Maintain and update warrant logs, release order logs, sex offender treatment log, and transferred cases log for the Beaver Falls Sub-Office.
Close cases by making prior entries in the computer, preparing Discharge Certificates and
Final PCR, and forwarding appropriate materials to Central Office.
Conduct the many routine and complex office responsibilities of the Beaver Falls Sub-Office.
