As a Correctional Officer, I maintain 12-hour shifts, overseeing and managing the safety and security of inmates within the facility. My responsibilities include conducting continuous inmate counts, performing thorough bunk and pat searches to detect contraband, and ensuring the adherence to facility rules and regulations. I supervise inmates in housing, work, and other areas, while actively monitoring activities and managing any disturbances or disputes. My role involves operating security equipment, including chemical agents, and controlling access to and from the facility through a picket room at times. I am proficient in operating communication radios and managing firearms, ensuring effective response to any incidents. Additionally, I am responsible for writing detailed reports on inmate conduct, escorting and transporting individuals in custody, and enforcing discipline to maintain order and safety within the facility.

As a Mortuary Affairs Specialist, I am responsible for handling deceased personnel, including recovery, collection, evacuation, and establishment of tentative identification. My duties involve searching for unmarked graves, personal effects, and identification media. I disinter remains, document personal effects, and transport both remains and personal effects to designated locations. I also establish tentative identifications, inventory and safeguard personal effects, and assist in the preparation, preservation, and shipment of remains.

In addition to my mortuary affairs duties, I serve as a paratrooper, having graduated from Army Airborne School at Fort Benning, Georgia. I conduct parachute jumps as part of my operational responsibilities and am qualified annually with the M4 rifle and M249 Squad Automatic Weapon, serving as the SAW gunner for my platoon.
