Abdirashid Hassan Iman
07.2024 - 06.2025
  • As a police officer in training, I have gained a wide range of valuable experiences and skills that have helped shape my responsibilities of law enforcement.
  • One of the most impactful aspects of my training has been engaging directly with the public. I've learned how to step out into the community, communicate effectively, attend to the publics needs and ensure their safety. These interactions have strengthened my ability to build trust and maintain a strong presence in the community.
  • Traffic control has also been a key part of my training. I've learned how to safely and effectively manage traffic situations, including conducting traffic stops and ensuring road safety for both drivers and pedestrians. Additionally, I've been trained in de-escalation techniques, particularly during domestic violence calls. I've learned how to approach both parties calmly, communicate respectfully, and work toward finding a solution that benefits everyone involved while maintaining safety and professionalism.
  • I have also gained experience in handling a variety of calls, including lost property, property damage, stolen vehicle, and stolen license plates. Each call has taught me how to assess situation quickly, gather information and take the appropriate steps to resolve issues and provide support to those affected.
  • Being in training has given me a realistic view of what it means to be a police officer out in the field. With the skills and knowledge I've acquired, I feel well prepared to continue my journey in a new department, where I lok forward to expanding my abilities and receiving further training.
