In 2014, within a year of coming to the USA, I went back to school after I decided I wanted to become a nurse. Multiple challenges faces me including being a new mom, being away from my family and homeland for the first time, and just adapting to the new environment in general. I graduated in 2019 in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Madonna University with high honors. After all these years, I can proudly say that I provided compassion care to many children and their families . I started as a Pediatric ICU RN. After 2 years, I expanded my career to become a float pool RN working in both neonatal ICU and pediatric ICU. This experience helped me handle a variety of medical situations, from routine checkups to critical emergencies. I acquired an ability to communicate effectively, stay calm under pressure and advocate for my patients. Along the way, I educated a lot of patients and their families on their health. I provided a lot of guidance on treatment, medications, and preventive care. I absolutely love what I do although it comes with a lot of challenges. I’m always ready to explore leadership and education roles in nursing. I do this job with a lot of compassion and empathy. I definitely feel like I am making a difference, but I am very ready to explore different opportunities in nursing and expand my career a little more.
