• Decoupled authentication logic from a monolith into microservices, and designed Tier-0 REST APIs for session validation, login/authentication using Spring Boot, Java, AWS (ECS, Cognito), DynamoDB, Aurora MySQL, with full observability via Datadog SLOs, and latency/error monitors.
• Built and rolled out MFA (TOTP authenticator app flows across the web (React/TypeScript), including enrollment and verification of code.
• Designed and implemented an async service to send notification emails for access token expiration.
• Designed and implemented backend services to support the TOTP login method for Smartsheet customers.
• Owned enterprise login methods (Google, Azure AD, Apple, Email/Password, Cognito SSO), and implemented domain sign-in options with admin UI controls, improving customer security and flexibility.
• Improved login SLOs during dependency failures by implementing resiliency patterns (timeouts, retries, backoff, fallbacks, circuit breakers), containing upstream outages, and raising authentication availability.
• Designed Snowflake dashboards for admins, product teams, and leadership to track login activity, MFA/SSO adoption, and user flows (weekly, monthly, quarterly), enabling data-driven product decisions.
• Automated monitoring and alerting by creating a Terraform-based framework for Datadog and CloudWatch alerts; also exposed APIs for support teams to accelerate customer issue investigations.
• Improved reliability and scale by resolving concurrency bottlenecks with async batch jobs (cut MySQL writes by 50%), addressing vulnerabilities, and leading PIRs/on-call escalations with cross-org teams.

• Designed and implemented real-time data streaming applications (Python, Kafka, Faust, AWS, S3) to process customer conversation events (chat and voice) for Expedia reservations (flights, cars, cruises, etc.).
• Aggregated conversation events across multiple sources, and built pipelines to publish to downstream consumers, with final datasets delivered into both the data lake and Snowflake for analytics and reporting.
• Powered Looker dashboards backed by Snowflake enable product, analytics, and support teams to visualize the full customer journey across conversations, and improve agent effectiveness.
• Optimized streaming and batch data pipelines, reducing event lag, ensuring high availability, and enabling reliable insights for real-time and historical reporting.
• Constantly debugging and fixing bugs in batch and stream data processing applications.
• Designed and implemented an intent-based survey skill as a service using Spring Boot and Kotlin. This application will help in retiring third-party applications and will help in reducing the cost (~1.7 million).
