Senior Development Engineer (Core Steering Wheel)

  • Responsibilities include the design and development of 'Next Gen' steering wheels. Guidance and support to the application team to solve design issues, DV, and PV test issues.
  • Completing projects and reports within the defined timeline and budget from concert through DV.
  • Worked on Next-Gen projects such as Hollow SW, Universal Armature/Frame, Mechanical, and Level 3 Automation SW as per OEMs' requests and requirements (patent pending on some projects).
  • Coordinate meetings with the application team, initiate activities, and evaluate alternatives as needed to meet deliverables according to project timing and monetary budget.
  • Responsible for supporting and approving application project milestones, i.e., CR, DV, PV, DVPNR.
  • Provides technical direction to the CAD, CAE, physical testing, and fabrication/build team.

Interior Trim Design & Release Engineer

  • Responsibilities include coordinating the design, development, and release of interior components for designated programs from concept through vehicle launch, which includes supplier interface, budget and package reviews, DV and PV reports, DFMEA, BOM, etc.
  • Was responsible for the launch of 18 components for the 2015 Ford Edge and Lincoln MKX as a hard-trim DRE for the NA, China, and EMEA regions.
  • Supported a large, cross-functional product development team.
  • Led the in-house design team to design multiple components/subsystems, and provided build and design requirements.
  • Resolve launch, DV, PV test, FEC, and safety issues, etc.
  • Coordinated with the supplier to resolve the production tool issue, PV test, AQPQ, PPAP, supplier quality, gauge R&R, grain gloss issue, and completed the required signoffs.
  • As a launch representative for hard trim, I coordinate with vehicle operations (assembly plant), the vehicle new model team, and the program management team on component delivery timing, the assembly process, and the change control process.
  • I worked for six months as launch support for the Ford Kuga (EMEA) and the Ford Escape (China).
  • Implemented the VA/VE idea, which saved approximately $90,000 annually.
  • Evaluated and compiled vehicle BOM to include configurations.
  • Efficiently coordinated with international and domestic suppliers to resolve production issues and ensure quality components.
