
High acuity 36-bed CVICU with extensive opportunities managing surgical patients requiring cardiothoracic and cardiovascular surgeries. Transplant patients pre and post op management including heart, lung, liver and kidney. Cardiac and renal devices for the treatment of critical patients requiring further support. Collaboration with multiple teams to provide higher level of care.
High acuity CVICU setting with both medical and cardiac patients. Allowing for a wide variety of experience in cardiacthoracic patients and devices. With also medical and neuro patients requiring support with AKI, DKA, COVID respiratory failure, post MI, post cardiac arrest, and post strokes.
Management of post operative cardiothoracic and cardiovascular patients including: CABG, Valve replacement/repairs, and aortic dissections Use of multi-modal pain medication in the immediate post-op setting
Management of devices such as CRRT, EKOS, Targeted Temperature Management Device, IABP, HM3, Impella, Centrimag, and ECMO
Invasive hemodynamic monitoring via arterial lines, SWAN, and spinal drains
Care of patients that are intubated, sedated and paralyzed on ventilator support, and the extubation process
Care of patients requiring titration of vasopressors and inotropic medications
Dedicated CVICU nurse with over 3 years of experience used to be active in collaboration for patient care with ICU team and management
BLS, ACLS, CCRN-CSC-CMC
Preceptor for new hires, and nursing graduates at Christus St. Elizabeth and Houston Methodist.
Resource nurse for unit at Houston Methodist, where I am able to be an asset to the unit and provide assistance with line placement, procedures at bedside, admits and any escalating situation.
