• Responsible for supervising and directing my team of 2 Security Officers during daily screening activities of employees and visitors entering the NAVAL Research Facility through our Security entrance which consist of our X-ray equipment,, hand held/ walk through our metal detectors etc.
• Maintained certifications on all screening equipment, processes, and procedures while assuring the team I manage is successful in their abilities to identify dangerous objects in Lunch Bags, Medical equipment, Laptops etc
• Oversee, mentor, coach, guide and counsel officers daily to adhere to SOP guidelines while using expertise to manage officers' actions with the employees and visitors while preventing prohibited objects from being transported onto facility.
• Continuously maintain current working knowledge of SOP.
• Subject matter expert while exercising tact and confidence during the performance of searches; to include hand-wand, pat-down, and employees and visitors searches.
• Ensure the integrity and security of Naval entry points and exits; Interact with visitors, government officials, while giving directions and responding to inquiries.
• Work with other partners and other interested parties to assure that the processes are understood and that all interests are aware of changing situations.
• Engage officers on a daily basis through daily shift briefings, training, or by observing the performance of screening functions of SOs.
• Emphasizing the importance of threat detection and to ensure officers maintain a high level of knowledge regarding current screening policies and procedures Mitigate potential threats to Research facility while maintaining situational awareness in a stressful environment.
• Engage with Detrick Police Officers as needed.
• Resolve issues with employees/ visitors without escalating the situation..
• Assign duties of subordinate officers and assure that the screening processes are intact.
• I review, document and submit complete and accurate data daily to NAVAL higher ups.
• I assign workloads and tasks, balancing the most skilled officers within their capacities while adjusting daily tasking for officer lunches and breaks.
• Maintain equipment, perform calibrations, data capture and identify work order situations.

• As Guard, perform Security Guard duties in accordance with appropriate regulations to detect and prevent theft, damage, accident, trespass, sabotage and espionage.
• I enforced Security regulations of installation in accordance with SOP. • I control access of vehicle and pedestrians to the installation.
• I verified identification through use of identification cards, badges, biometrics automated records, verbal questioning, and other means.
• I do admit persons, denies entry or arranges for escorts, as appropriate.
• I conduct vehicle searches and inspections.
• I conduct foot or vehicle patrol of perimeters, roadways, parking and other high traffic areas.
• Control and direct traffic in the yard of the facility and making sure there is no opportunity for criminals and enemies of the government to engage in acts of terrorism and acts that will use the facility to disrupt the peace of the based.
• Screened employees and accessible property moving through security checkpoints by using any combination of hands-on and other advanced imaging technology techniques such as X- Ray machine.

Monitoring and authorizing employees, customers, and visitors' entry and exit routines at the

facility/premises.

Ensuring facility rules are upheld and following strict facility protocols when there is an infraction or

violations, apprehending or evicting violators from the premises (using force when necessary); •

Responding to scientific alarms and if possible, dispatching calls and engaging in appropriate action

based on the severity and nature of the situation.

Understanding the capabilities of and maintaining proficiency in the use of all safety equipment and protective garments on site.

Compiling an accurate report of the incident with attention to detail and objectivity.

Assisting members of the security team including the head of the security department in identifying,

investigating, and resolving actual or potential safety vulnerabilities.

Performing periodic and routine inspection of the facilities by using modern detection devices like

CCTV cameras, etc.
