Accomplishments

ASB- I served as Freshman president, Sophomore president, Junior President, and ASB president where I managed class social media, organized & executed class homecoming float & events, coordinated with counselors/admin for 8th grade transition events to get kids connected and plugged in, 20hr of community service per semester working at local elementary school events(track meets, fall fair, tutoring students), recruited diverse groups of participants to get involved with school activities, assisted collecting and organizing canned food drive for city food pantry, Coordinated efforts to show appreciation to essential workers through hand written cards, oversaw the planning of "Prom"-worked with class officers to ensure the guidelines of COVID were followed, led weekly meetings & planned agendas. Created leadership philosophy & group camaraderie for all grades; recognized other leader's accomplishments with "of the month" awards. Supported, included, and encouraged students to be involved by serving the school; motivate & mentor other class presidents; create job description binders with helpful information and tips.

Lions Club Student of the Month- Each month of the school year teachers nominate and vote for a senior student based on service, dependability, leadership, and a clear sense of purpose. I was honored to be chosen, in September, as the first recipient of this school year. I was given this award for my drive to lead, my people & communication skills, ability to adapt, and motivation to help others.

Link Crew- I came up with games, activities, and dress up days to foster opportunities for building community. The goal was for freshmen to get involved and have a smooth transition to high school. I connected with grades younger than me to ease the anxiety of being in a new place with new people by spreading positivity so each student would feel excited and welcomed at school.

Student of the Month December 2020- For this specific student of the month I was chosen by our ASB advisor who gets to select one student each month. I received this award because during the month of December there were many essential workers who needed some holiday cheer so I took the time to hand write thank you letters and make cards for grocery store employees, firefighters, & EMTs to express my gratitude for all they've done and the postive impact they had on our community.

National Honor Society-Recipients are chosen through an application process where teachers, staff, and other NHS members review the applications and select students who exemplify integrity, courage, scholarship, service, citizenship, leadership, and character. In my application I emphasized that I have strong moral principles, I choose courage over comfort, I am willing to work & serve for the benefit of others and work to improve the lives of my peers and citizens. I have a commitment to learning because of it's lasting benefits.

Sports, Church, Community Service

Water Polo- I was part of a league Championship Team for the 2022 season and we made it to quarterfinals of CIF.

Scholar Athlete- I attained above a 3.5 GPA all 4 years of high school while playing water polo. I maintained my grades by completing 1-4 hr of homework & studying every night while managing 2+ hour daily practices & training of water polo and 2+ hours of daily training & practice for swim.

Blandford Elementary School Volunteer- I volunteered at a local elementary school working in the classrooms of grades K-3rd as well as helping the office personnel. Some public elementary schools don't have the funding for aides, so student volunteers are critical in supporting teachers and staff. I met with teachers to help lesson plan; tutored individual and small groups of students; helped prep classroom activities and co-led workshops at family literacy, math, & science nights. I learned through observing and working with teachers how important it is to long term plan, set goals and objectives, and how to work with people of many different ages, backgrounds, and cultures.

Eastside Nursery Voulnteer- Eastside exists to pursue God, build community, & unleash compassion. There is a main service for parents & Sunday school classes for children from nursery to high school where all go to learn about God, make friends, and participate activities. I have volunteered in the nursery with 1-2year olds, since I was in 7th grade, and I continue to do so every other Sunday. I have learned from nursery leaders how to work with babies , to interact with parents, and collaborate well with other volunteers of all ages. It has taught me how to manage all that I have on my plate and prioritize whats important to me.

Eastside Vacation Bible School-This was put on for kids in the neighboring community as well as kids from low socioeconomic communities to give them a positive place with countless opportunities to interact with others and learn about the Lord over summer. In this setting I was able to display leadership, creativity, and initiative when working with others to formulate creative lesson plans that would engage the elementary students and made sure that all students felt included and a valued part of the activities. One of the activities was

Eastside Student Leadership Team-The student leadership team was created so the high school ministry would have students that had a voice and were able to share their ideas, give input, and make connections. We were there to welcome visitors and get new students connected and to feel welcomed. I was in charge of Guest Central and worked closely with the social media team. I was stationed at Guest Central on Sunday evenings to welcome new people, befriend those that didn't know anyone, encourage others so they knew they mattered and were a part of the church whether we've been friends for years or just met.

Fristers for Teen Parents- Fristers is an organization that helps provide community, food, resources, education, and support to teen parents and their children. It specifically helps the less fortunate who those don't have support system so they can build a stable life. I would go with my grandma and her Bible Study group to set up Fristers, serve young moms a meal, talk & show my support to moms who were close in age with me, and volunteer with the kids helping them learn their numbers, letters, shapes, or reading books and comforting them while they were away from their parents who were at educational workshops

Christmas Toy Drive Community Service-I served at a Christmas toy drive with others to collect donations. These donations were given to local underserved families.

NHS Community service beach cleanup-I worked with my fellow NHS Members to dig out the invasive mustard flower plant at the Upper Newport Bay Nature Reserve to restore its beauty and maintain its native species and plants.

Global Compassion Meal Kit Preparation- My family and I worked together to pack over 200 meal kit bags. Each bag provided a meal, for a family of 6-8, both locally and abroad.
