Researched child welfare law and related statutes and prepared motions and memoranda for court proceedings.

Worked collaboratively with staff social workers at CPCS, interpreters, and other professionals.

• Assisting staff attorneys in the Group Housing Advocacy Unit with drafting motions and briefs, and conducting supporting research for groups of tenants.
• Outreach to local distressed buildings to help organize tenants to assert their legal rights collectively and gain new clients.

• Editing submissions to the journal for style and accuracy. Previously wrote a note concerning a federal employment law issue.

• Interfaced with clients directly to ascertain the problems they were having with their housing, and to investigate the legally significant facts
• Informed clients of the limited scope of the Hotline's legal work
• Conducted legal research for these clients to ascertain their rights and obligations, and conferred with attorneys to provide them with brief advice for their specific situations
• Reviewed informational pamphlets to provide awareness for the Hotline
• Reviewed local policy proposals, such as the Right to Counsel initiative, which would give low-income tenants access to counsel in housing cases
