I am an experienced pediatric anesthesiologist with 18 years of treating children in a tertiary hospital setting. I have experience and expertise in pediatric cardiac and thoracic anesthesia, pediatric liver transplant anesthesia, pediatric trauma, advanced pediatric airway management, acute pain management, and pediatric complex/chronic inpatient and outpatient pain management. I have adult anesthesia experience working as an attending at Hospital for Special Surgery in New York City, an all-orthopedic hospital. There, I became proficient in acute pain management and all ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia techniques in adult and pediatric patients. I have been on the Ethics Committee for over a decade and have provided ethics consultations for Children’s Mercy Hospital for the last eight years. I am certified and an instructor of point-of-care transthoracic echocardiography and lung ultrasound through the FATE (Focused Assessed Transthoracic Echocardiography) protocol. I have conducted two FATE courses for anesthesiologists and intensive care pediatricians at Children’s Mercy Hospital. I enjoy being an instructor to residents and fellows. I also look forward to doing more research and publishing more within the area of pediatric pain medicine.
