Work History

Family-Owned Restaurant Manager/Marketing/Cook

Lucy I'm Home
Colorado Springs, CO
04.2014 - 01.2024
  • Relocated from Denver to Colorado Springs to start a business with my Father in living out his dream to cook his traditional Cuban Recipes for the Colorado Springs Community he's been a resident of since coming from Cuba to America at an early age.
  • We purchased a Food Truck in 2012. We removed the existing interior components, bought and installed cooking appliances that were up to code. designed a layout for the flow of cooking and serving, stripped and put down new flooring, exterior paint, and exterior graphics to completion. With all of our functioning components then in alignment, we applied for our food license in 2014 and our food business began.
  • I was soley responsible for the look and graphics of the truck, menu photos and details, building and managing our online presence with daily specials and photos, website design, marketing, answering emails, scheduling food truck and catering events, purchasing equipment/product/kitchenware, cooking during open hours, and cleaning followed by product inventory and purchase when closed.
  • Having won/ or runner up in four annual Colorado Springs Food Truck Cook Off's in our first four years of operation, also nominated every year since 2014 as Independent Magazine's Best Of Food Truck, we took upon our given success and opened a brick and mortar location on North Circle in 2017. The new location gave us more availability and menu options for our beloved community of family, friends, and customers to dine in and enjoy.

Apprentice Construction Laborer

RT Construction

01.2011 - 12.2014
  • While working towards having all essential aspects of our Food Truck ready for operation and without income, I worked for a friend's construction business, RT Construction.
  • Performed every aspect of home and property tear-outs, builds, remodels, and renovations.
  • Specific projects completed include room rebuilds, carpet, hardwood, and tile, counter tops, windows and paneling, and cabinet builds and installs. Property services we complete were existing deck upkeep and new deck builds, full landscaping projects including cement and rock walk-way lie downs, grass and artificial turf install, retaining wall builds, trees removed or trimmed, ponds and fountains installs, driveway re-pavements, wooden fence builds, and specialty designed iron welded fencing.
  • Worked with home owners, landlords, leasing agents, and real estate agents to bring their home improvement needs and wish lists into fruition, while keeping tools, product, and work areas clean daily.
  • Extensive use of specific tools used daily depending on current project. Operation of heavy machinery for lawn tear-outs and removal and for moving in heavy landscape material for placement.

Lead Staff Photographer

303 Magazine
Denver, CO
12.2006 - 01.2011
  • Hired as 303 Magazine's Staff Fashion/Editorial Photographer for all image content of the 30,000 printed and distributed issues monthly.
  • Worked alongside the Art Director/ Fashion Stylist/ and Makeup Artist to conceptualize a 5–7-page photo-to-print layout for every monthly each months issue. access to locations, fashions to be used, hiring of models, model releases, and equipment checks would be thoroughly prearranged by the four of us to be prepared and covered contractually for publishing and distribution of the fashion images taken.
  • Photographed and edited all other editorial content for articles covered monthly for print. I would contact any subjects to be photographed for the current months articles to be used, would discuss with those subjects the ideas, look, and location for a photo that would best support the article in which they were covered, and balance the schedule of successfully completing all photo assignments ahead of our print date.
  • Upon photographing the subjects for that months articles and fashion spread, all images taken would be sent back to the Art Director for final approval and editing specifics to then be sent back with those edits completed for print deadline.
  • Articles that I photographed monthly included: This Week in Denver (Events, Concerts, Shows, Grand Openings etc), Neighborhood Tour (coverage of Denver's different landscapes), Getaways (coverage of out-of-town places for weekend travels), Featured Chef, Featured Musician, Featured Restaurant Review, Successful Minds (a prominent contributing member of Denver to be covered), and a supporting image for a selected Fiction aricle insert.

Lead Photographer/ Portrait Studio Manager

428 Photography Studio
Denver, CO
01.2023 - 12.2026
  • Hired to operate, manage, and provide my specific brand of photographic style for a high-end professional portrait studio with each sold portrait package ranging from $400 to $3,000 for each booking.
  • Responsible for all aspects of the studios branding, marketing, and management. Established the function and flow of the photographic process to package purchase, chose equipment/props/backdrops to purchase, and gained access to nearby locations to offer our clients outdoor scenery backdrops in combination with studio photos.
  • Me and my hired team of photographers dedicatedly approached every client booking with a personal and specialized experience. For each booking we provided an hour of consultation prior to their photo session, an hour to a full day of photos taken the day to follow, two days spent choosing and editing the best images with a variety of treatments, and then invited our client back to view a final video slide show projected on a large screen in our private show room that colleagues, family, friends could join in on choosing the photos/ edit options/ layouts/ and packages desired. That work order would then be printed, cut to size, sleeved, mounted, framed, boxed and gift wrapped. As a final detail of our appreciation towards our clients, their photographer would hand deliver the final product to their location personally.
