- Planned the training and operation of the merge of 2 machine shops (Fresno and SLC) to be set up for production and planned the training of personnel to get 14 new machines set up to machine.
- Assess and Train employees as needed in the proper and safe operation of shop equipment.
- Plan and direct department activities necessary to meet the goals of the department and company in accordance with established quality standards.
- Review work load, set priorities and plan daily shop operations.
- Assisted in developing new processes and procedures for improved efficiency.
- Ensured that all safety rules were followed by workers while operating machinery.
- Provide technical support to machinists regarding complex operations involving CNC Lathes, mills, horizontals and other machines in the shop.
- Work directly with HR for advice and direction of employee grievances and disciplinary procedures.
- Control cost/budget parameters and schedules
- Maintain necessary records for performance of hourly employees to insure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Responsible for work force management scheduling, editing, keying exceptions and approving time
- Performance reviews and yearly evaluations on all direct report personal.
- Maintained accurate records related to production output, downtime, inventory levels.
- Work with maintenance to schedule repairs and PM’s on all machines.
- Trouble shoot machine issues and took corrective action as needed
- Set up work centers process with 5S/6S Lean manufacturing
- Perform daily GEMBA walks with management team
