As a ASHI Certified Home Inspector my duties include inspecting homes and properties for real estate transactions. I inspect all structural posts, beams and foundations. All the wood framing and trust systems in ensure they are sound and interlocked per all building codes. Then I look at all the electrical components. Switches, lights, GFCI and AFCI receptacles and breakers. Check all the electrical service equipment. Inspect all the plumbing and HVAC systems and equipment. Then I write a detailed report that will go to the buyer and whomever they approve of having a copy as well.
