Adam Miller

• As a Sergeant in the Pontiac Detective Bureau, I am responsible for the good order, discipline, and efficiency of all Detectives and ATF Special Agents assigned to the Pontiac Sub-Station. In my current capacity, I am responsible for supervising all detectives and their caseloads. I also supervise an ATF Task Force that conducts operations out of the Pontiac Sub-Station. My duties also include leading the team while conducting search warrants operations on homicides, gun crimes, and other violent crimes.

• As a Sergeant in Pontiac Directed Patrol Unit, I was responsible for the deputies under my command including high-risk traffic stops and high-risk investigations. In that position, I lead my team conducting investigations for drug complaints, gun crimes, other violent crimes, utilizing confidential informants, assisting the road patrol and the Pontiac Detective Bureau. I also conducted investigations for citizen complaints against my employees.

• As a Sergeant in the Oakland County Jail, I was responsible for scheduling, facility inspections, Inmate grievances as well as disciplinary hearings. I was also responsible for supervising Deputies on scenes of assaults, PREA violations and other major incidents.

• As an investigator assigned to the Pontiac Detective Bureau, I conducted complex and sensitive investigations and interviews which were required to obtain information pertinent to specific type crimes. These interviews consisted of Victims of Crimes, Suspects of Crimes, and Witnesses of Crimes. I was also on-call and called into to handle all major crimes that occurred within the City of Pontiac.

• As a Deputy on patrol in the City of Pontiac I was responsible for upholding the law for all citizens in the City of Pontiac. I performed routine police patrols, preliminary investigations, traffic regulation and enforcement, conducted interrogations and searches, made arrests, and testified in court.
• I created organized police reports, which consisted of complicated documentation referencing Death, Rape, Robbery, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, Attempted Murder, Murder, Traffic Reports, Traffic Accident investigations, Fraud, Larceny, Embezzlement, Conspiracy, as well as Vice and Narcotic investigations.
• I documented and presented official reports to supervisors and the Prosecuting Attorney for prosecution.

I was responsible for drug / high risk search warrants, along with handling barricaded gunmen.

• Operator for the Pontiac Police Special Response Team (SWAT)
• Assigned to the Pontiac Police Motor Unit from 2004 - 2011
• Provided security for special events including the President of the United States (2004), Super Bowl (2006), and the NFL Detroit Lions (1997-2002), and provided escort services / security for the MLB All-Star game at Comerica Park (2005)

I was a liaison between the community, city leaders and the Pontiac Police Department.

Community Policing - Attending community meetings, taking complaints from citizens regarding crime, and reporting back with the re solution to their complaint.

Conducted surveillance in high crime areas for gun crimes, drug crimes, prostitution, etc.

I was responsible for all properties owned / operated by the Pontiac Housing Commission.

I handled all calls for service, citizen complaints regarding crime, attended community meetings, and made arrests for drugs, guns, prostitution, other various crimes.
