Learned the science of building materials in commercial applications, represented ownership and engineers to assure quality (execution of plans to details and material limitations) and quantity control of medium scale commercial projects( responsible for billing and quantities of work). communicated daily with my superiors and clients daily via field reports. Worked with clients to determine projects critical path and how to achieve it safely and efficiently. I learned to test the properties of building materials, utilizing a full machine and wood shop to fabricate testing apparatus. I have experienced a number of OSHA safety training as well as multiple corporation safety trainings (J&J, Ortho, Skanska and Turner). Learned to design, interpret, and execute plans, and details. I also worked with the NJ Dept of Health to establish new silica exposure tolerance in the work place. I was responsible for work place PPE policies and enforcement.
At Wohlsen, I was handed a project that was 1 month behind with 5 months until substantial completion. The project consisted of a full renovation to the common areas, restrooms, kitchens, dining rooms and eateries in an existing Senior living Facility. I used communication and respect to earn the subs trust moving forward. My approach, personality and execution earned the respect of the clients and subcontractors. The team was then able to work intelligently and productively to make up the months time.
KBE, I was hired as a "boots on the ground" superintendent to manage the day to day operations of a project that was 6 months behind with 8 months remaining. This was exceptionally challeging as payment disputes between KBE and subcontractors hampered my abilities daily. I was able to deliver on every promise I made and was able to work within the parameters respectfully to get results and production from our subcontractors in an effort to not let the project sit stagnate.
I was able to forge great client relationships through politeness, thoughtfulness, and calm. I prefer to be part of a solution, not a continuation of a problem.
