Work History

Co-Teacher

The Children's Center at Purchase College
09.2022 - Current
  • As a Head Teacher/Co-Teacher at the Children's Center, it is my responsibility to attend to and teach children who have ranged from 18 months to four years of age
  • I follow a structured routine that my students implement into their daily lives, focusing on early childhood development and kindergarten readiness
  • As my current title as a 'Co-Teacher,' I collectively partake in weekly educational lesson planning which involves art, reading, physical activities, motor skill and social development, and developmentally appropriate curriculum, such as color and shape recognition
  • We strive to improve and aid in language, social, emotional, motor skills, and intellectual development
  • I maintain ongoing communication with my student's parents through daily emails, conversations, phone calls, and through parent-teacher conferences which take place twice annually; once in the Fall and once in the Spring
  • Under my supervision, students of Purchase College who are pursuing practicum, work-study, and internship opportunities at the center carry out daily tasks and chores, such as observing, taking notes, cleaning and sanitizing, and most importantly, interacting and creating a rapport with the students
  • My assistant and I prepare nutritional breakfasts, lunches, and snacks daily
  • With the help of my assistant, we guide our students as they learn basic self-help skills, are beginning to potty train, and assist in diaper changes
  • As of late, I am collaborating with physical and speech therapists for the children in the classroom who require Early Intervention services
  • I aim to ensure that my classroom is a happy, fun, and safe environment and maintain ongoing communication with my student's parents
  • At the end of the day, we take all necessary measures to sanitize the classroom and obtain all materials needed for the following day or the week.

Vision Therapist

The Center for Visual Management
03.2021 - 05.2022
  • I worked in the healthcare field as a Vision Therapist at The Center for Visual Management in Tarrytown, New York as well as Yorktown, NY
  • I provided services to children and adults with behavioral, developmental, academic, and visual impairments
  • I serviced children in local schools as well as in the office and remotely via Google Meet or Zoom
  • I focused on working to further develop visual skills such as reading, writing, eye-teaming, spatial awareness, and depth perception with my patients
  • I also focused to improve upon how the eyes work with the body
  • My responsibilities included answering phone calls and scheduling patients via Google Calendar, conducting 30-minute therapy sessions, writing therapy notes, conducting preliminary eye examinations, traveling to schools, providing Vision Therapy homework logs, writing and revising evaluation and progress reports, creating Excel spreadsheets, utilizing our billing system and billing patients and providing them with invoices as well as recording and updating our billing spreadsheet daily, properly filing away charts, promptly answering emails, and continuing ongoing communicating with parents, teachers, and Early Intervention Coordinators
  • Sanitization protocols were done daily, which included wiping down all seats and equipment and using multiple UV sterilization machines.

Child Care Provider

Aupair
08.2015 - 02.2021
  • I worked with a child full-time and lived in her home
  • I started working with her at age 3
  • My responsibilities included waking her up and getting her ready for school, putting her on and off of the school bus, preparing lunch and dinner, driving her to doctor's appointments, and play dates, going to school functions, and administering medication when she is sick
  • After school, I assisted with homework help, spelling words, and reading
  • Light to moderate housekeeping was performed every day, such as laundry, dishes, mopping the floors, cleaning the bathrooms and showers, and cleaning her room
  • Bathing and showers were made sure to be done every night before bed, as well as reading together
  • I prioritized making sure that all of the child's needs were met while providing a happy, fun, and safe environment
  • My responsibilities included waking her up in the morning making sure she was ready for the day and logging onto her computer for remote learning
  • She had trouble with math, which I helped her with daily
  • I also made sure she had a healthy breakfast as well as a healthy lunch
  • I worked to help her stay focused on her work because I know remote learning can be difficult
  • I ensured she had completed all of her work before having free time for the rest of the day
  • She was enrolled in dance, and I drove her to the studio twice a week after school
  • I prepared healthy dinners and ensured that I got her ready for bed on schedule
  • I limited screen time and phone usage as much as possible, in which I would play games with her, practice math and reading with her, and play with her dolls.
