-Humanely handles and kennels all animals and identifies shelter animals with appropriate bands before kenneling. This includes animals which may be ill, injured, quarantined, or aggressive.

-Provides food,water, and proper care for all animals by adhering to schedules and protocols within departments.

-Provides vaccinations, micro shipping, FIV/FELV and heartworm testing as well and treatment for all shelter animals.

-Performs the euthanasia of animals by injection selected animals with control substance, in accordance with established laws and department policies; disposes of euthanized animals.

-Provides information and assist the public in search of lost and adoptable pets.

-Making simple observations regarding sickness and/or injurys as well as behavior.

- Assisting costumers in adoption question as well as providing information about an animal.

-Assisting veterinarian with animal treatment, routine examinations and vaccinations.

-Transporting animals from cages and restraining animals weighing up to 120 pounds for injections, medication and examination; may administer selected medications.

-Preparing specimens and performing diagnostic laboratory test, e.g., microscopic egg counts, etc.

-Assists veterinarian with surgery, dental sterilization of instruments and surgical area, animal prep, monitoring of vital signs; monitors post-operations recovery and reports changes in condition.
