I work in the Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU), where both Neuro and Orthopedic patients are treated after undergoing surgical procedures. I assist patients by taking care of them as they wake up from surgery. My role entails monitoring patient vital signs, assisting patients in using the bathroom, removing patient IVs, helping patients get dressed, providing patients with snacks and drinks, transporting patients on stretchers from the PACU to their room on the main floor, discharging patients, and cleaning patient beds after transport or discharge. I help ensure patient comfort in recovery, while treating them with care and respect. I report changes to the nurses, and maintain cleanliness to promote safety.
I was an Undergraduate Research Assistant for the Klump Lab at Michigan State University. I began in January of 2024, and worked for the lab through August of 2025. I was a Research Assistant for the Klump Lab for a total of five semesters, as I worked during both the school year and summer semesters. I ran assessments with voluntary research participants, which consisted of women in their pre-, peri-, and post- menopausal stages. This Psychology-based research lab studies the correlation between mental health conditions and hormonal levels. Specifically, eating disorders are examined as they relate to menopausal stages in women.
